About

Public filings, made legible.

Company / Decoded is a design-led series. Each issue takes a public company’s annual report and turns the tables into quiet charts: one business-model idea, a handful of figures, and a citation for every number.

It sits beside the personal site at jeromejjb.com, and it shares the Electric Ledger identity with work that will follow. It is not a brokerage, a newsletter paywall, or a stock pick.

How the data is sourced

Every figure begins in an SEC filing: Form 10-K or 10-Q, named by period, with a link to the document on sec.gov. Dollar amounts stay in the filing’s millions until display, when they are divided to billions. Ratios that the filing does not print are labeled as derived and shown with the exact inputs. Market prices, forecasts, and valuation models are out of scope.

The ledgers in this first edition were assembled from the FY2026 and FY2024 annual reports for Apple and Costco. If a later amendment appears, the issue should be revised against that document, not against memory.
